CompoSIDE for engineers
CompoSIDE is an integrated suite of cloud based design engineering modules and data management tools. It is designed specifically for project managers, designers, engineers and architects who are developing composites solutions. When you use CompoSIDE, you can significantly reduce the development time and cost of creating your composite applications.
You can use CompoSIDE to develop a composite part, structural element and product or a complete composites application. By choosing CompoSIDE to develop your composites solution, you will benefit from:
- Process efficiencies. This is through reducing the time it takes to develop your composites solution because of CompoSIDE’s agile design workflows
- Greater innovation and creativity. CompoSIDE’s flexibility allows you to experiment with different designs throughout the application development process. If you change your mind, you can change the design quickly. The system automatically updates saving you significant time and efforts
- Composites application performance enhancements. You can complete more design iterations for the same time and resources budget. This enables you to produce sharper and more refined component and product designs
- Quality improvements. These arise from consistent workflows, standardised processes, an integrated system and a shared knowledgebase
CompoSIDE’s features include:
- An intuitive graphical user interface with straightforward navigation that has been designed specifically for engineers, designers, architects and project managers
- A core management module PROJECTSpace that integrates the interlinked 2D/3D design and engineering tools, the materials database, knowledgebase and application specific modules
- The CompoSIDE Materials Database – CMDB. Your subscription includes a basic set of materials that you can expand with your own project specific data that can be shared by your project users
- General composites design and engineering modules, such as laminates, beam sections, 3D frames and panels. The integration of these modules is unique and the best in class for composites engineers
- Add on modules that are application specific. These include an FE export module and yacht scantlings design guidelines. They are packaged and tuned to the design workflow for those particular applications
- A bill of materials generation tool that automatically produces your bill of materials, weight and cost estimates. Your bill of materials can be either automatically or manually generated, and you can make modifications and additions. The design modules and bill of materials are dynamically linked, so you can update and review the impact of your design decisions on your bill of materials and costs
- Project document generation and reporting tools and wizards allow you to create, manage and export your engineering data, such as material properties, design details, such as laminate tables, the bill of materials and reports using templates that you can customise maintaining consistency
- Systems tools enabling you to easily configure your project settings, including safety factors, failure settings, user roles, user permissions and to manage your subscription and monitor resources
- A user defined encyclopaedia, the Wiki module, that enables you to build and maintain your knowledgebase, and share composites related data across different projects. You can create a Wiki entry for most elements in the system allowing you to document your work, assumptions and data sources as required.
CompoSIDE for managers
CompoSIDE is an integrated suite of cloud based composites project coordination, design engineering, project costing modules and data management tools. It is designed specifically for business team leaders and project managers who are managing the development of composites solutions. When you use CompoSIDE you can:
- More effectively manage your team
- Significantly reduce solution development time
- Lower the costs of creating your composites applications
- Enhance the benefits composites bring to your business.
Your project team can use CompoSIDE to develop composites solutions that meet your and your clients’ and customers’ business needs. By choosing CompoSIDE to develop your composites solution, you will benefit from:
- A source of competitive advantage. You can develop better composites applications faster and cheaper than your competitors.
- Shorter design cycles and faster composites application time to market. This provides your business or your clients/customers with a solution that has been developed more quickly and for a lower cost than other design solutions and software.
- Cost savings and process efficiencies. You can design and produce your applications for lower costs. Or you can use the same amount of resources to create better composites designs and applications.
- Reduced risk and improved quality. CompoSIDE’s features enable your team to produce higher quality designs, and designs that are better able to meet your business requirements
- Easier internal approvals and payment processes. Because it is delivered via a SaaS model, the subscription is an operational and not capital expense, and you can use your credit/debit card to pay for it, as well as choosing an annual subscription you can pay by bank transfer.
CompoSIDE’s features include:
- Cloud based delivery via a software as a service (SaaS) model. This typically means it will come out of your operational expenditure (OPEX) budget and is not a capital (CAPEX) budget item
- You can use your company credit/debit card to pay for your subscription. Because you pay by subscription with no premises/site user licenses you can have as many users as you want
- Cloud based delivery means you can make CompoSIDE accessible to your entire team no matter where they are based, including remote users. You can also provide access to subcontractors and suppliers
- An intuitive graphical user interface with straightforward navigation that has been designed specifically to help you better manage your team.
- A core project coordination module PROJECTSpace. It integrates all of the tools available within CompoSIDE. It presents you with the management information you need to more effectively coordinate the project, your team and the composites application design process
- General composites design and engineering modules that are designed to improve the quality of designs and improve the efficiency of your team’s design process. The integration of these modules is unique and the best in class for composites engineers
- Add on options – application specific modules providing ready-made and market-tested composites solutions
- A bill of materials generation tool that automatically produces your bill of materials, weight and cost estimates. It provides you with data you need to manage the business aspects of your project
- Project document production and reporting tools and wizards that can create and export a range of reports for clients/customers and internal reports for management and technical teams
- Systems tools enabling you to easily manage the costs of your subscription, configure your settings, allocate and control user roles and access rights and permissions
- A Wiki module that enables you to build and maintain your knowledgebase, sharing all of your data across different projects.
